Abstract

For 20 years, biocrates has enabled researchers to bring standardized, quantitative, and reproducible metabolomics to any laboratory in the world. The development of biocrates metabolomics kits heavily reduced the entry barrier to perform metabolomics studies. Moreover, the targeted approach helped facilitate metabolomics collaborations across multiple laboratories and empowered the scalability of metabolomics to larger sample pools.

With the newly developed MxP® Quant 500 XL kit, biocrates now pushes the boundaries of metabolite coverage. This is the first targeted metabolomics kit offering analysis of more than 1,000 metabolites and lipids from 39 biochemical classes. The quantitative nature of the UHPLC- and FIA-MS/MS approach additionally allows calculation of more than 400 metabolite sums and ratios (metabolism indicators), which support data interpretation and biological hypothesis generation. The kit was successfully validated following EMA/FDA guidelines and the reproducibility has largely been proven in international ring trials.

The kit covers a broad array of hundreds of analytes related to aging and organ health. This unique coverage translates to an improved functional understanding of lipid and metabolite homeostasis in health and disease. The MxP® Quant 500 XL kit thus helps to unravel the complexity of diseases related to aging, neurodegeneration, and cardiometabolic health.
